Kennedi Mason thinks she's the luckiest woman on earth. She loves her job, she has a wonderful best friend, and she's been married for ten years to her soul mate. There's nothing she can think of that could make her life any better. Then one fateful day Kennedi receives a piece of news that will turn her world upside down. She's excited about it, and she knows that her husband, Blake, will be over the moon. He has always dreamed of this one thing happening, and she can't wait until he comes home so she can tell him. But when she sees Blake that evening, he has a special announcement of his own. It shocks Kennedi into silence and wipes the admission she was planning to make right out of her mind. In an instant, her life and her marriage have changed, but not at all in the way that she had expected. A poignant and satisfying story of hope, Kimberla Lawson Roby's One in a Million beautifully shows us the difference between what we think we want and what we actually need to be truly happy. ![]() Rating: - Not as good as the othersI purchased the book because I have been an avid KLR fan for 5 years. This book was a disappointment because it was short and the ending was predictable. It's like she dusted off one of her old, forgotten manuscripts and decided to publish it. I will still support her with her other works (the Curtis Black books were the best!), but this book left a lot to be desired. Rating: - Is Kimberla's contract ending? The general plot was new and refreshing. However, I was very disappointed with the novel's flow. The character development and overall plot was subpar for Kimberla Lawson Roby. Kennedi was immaturally begging her husband to stay, then all of a sudden she is this strong willed woman who doesn't want anything to do with him...I missed the transition. Much of the dialog amongst the characters sounded more like preaching about relationships, people don't actually "talk" to each other in that manner. ... A person may say that in given the situation, one would know how to handle it, but who really does? Rating: - GOOD READKIMBERLA LAWSON ROBY IS AN EXCELLENT AUTHOR,THIS BOOK WAS A BIT PREDICTABLE BUT IT WAS AN ALRIGHT, AVERAGE READ. NOT LIKE THE OTHER BOOKS SHE HAS WRITTEN BUT FAIR. Rating: - One in a Million kept me wanting moreI read this book in one day. I just couldn't put it down. One in a Million is a good quick read that had me turning page after page, after page, after page. The story line is well written from the beginning to the end. |
