![]() Rating: - Don't Miss Out On Any Of The Mule Hollow Series. As with all of the Mule Hollow books, this book was great! I'm constantly checking Debra Clopton's website for another release. It was hard to believe this was her first book, ever. I've been hooked ever since. There fast paced, well written, with loveable characters. The stories will be etched into your heart forever! The only disappointment I foresee is the day she discontinues the series. What a wonderful little town she's created. Rating: - Not bad for a debut...Debra Clopton's The Trouble with Lacy Brown was an enjoyable read. For the most part it kept me interested. Occasionally the humor seemed a bit over-the-top, but otherwise it was zany and fun. I enjoyed getting to know the impulsive gal and found her heart endearing as much as it was aggravating at times. For a first novel, this is a winner, and we can look forward to some great stories from Ms. Clopton. Way to go, Debra! Rating: - The Trouble with Lacy Brown? It simply was not long enough. One thing that really impressed me was the research into locations. Usually, non-Texans get about half the details wrong when they are writing about this huge state. Debra Clopton had done her homework. Great good fun! Rating: - Nice story, reads like a first novel This is Clopton's first novel and it shows - the characters are a little flat, the story is a bit contrived in places, and subplots (such as the relationships with Sherri and JP, Clint's forgiveness and reconciliation with his mother, etc) are hinted at but never flushed out. I would have loved to know why Clint's mother left - in her words - and why she was seeking forgiveness now. Part of the plot revolves around trust and forgiveness so actually witnessing Clint forgive his mother and moving ... Read More |
