![]() Rating: - A New Earth is awakening me!I am very glad that I purchased this book, then the audio book because it is so different than anything I've ever heard about spirituality. I am a Christian, so I had to have an open mind to listen and/or read it because it focuses on life and living in a very different way. I would recommend it to anyone, even if you find you don't agree with Eckhart Tolle's way of thinking, because it is still enlightening. Rating: - Rip VanWinkle - "I've been asleep for too long"This is an excellent book. Not one to be taken lightly, not one to be followed like a manual, but one to bring into your life and let it manifest in a positive way. You are the keeper of your thoughts. Sometimes we can't help but go on a tangent in thought hoping it will reveal some comfort, but realizing that you are creating stress with thoughts that simply won't change a thing. These obsessive thoughts are worthless as we were not meant to understand it "ALL". Replace those thoughts with hope ... Read More Rating: - Content is Excellent, the Reading is AwfulI'm convinced that Eckhart Tolle did not read this. Yes, it's his voice, yet it's robotic and devoid of passion. My GPS unit has more enthusiasm. The content is brilliant of course, yet the plodding monotone reading steals it's power. Stick with the book. Rating: - Certainly One of The Most Enlightening BooksI have read many inspirational books in the last decade and this is one of the books in my top list, for sure. You have to read a second or more times to get what it meant for YOU. Although it mentioned Biblical sayings,it actually is the essence of Buddhism, Zen,and other religion: When I carry water,I carry water; when I chop wood,I chop wood.If you do them and other daily routine and 'boring' chores with 'alert intention' or awareness, you are on your way to the next level, you don't need to go ... Read More Rating: - An Awakening Indeed!!!Being an Oprah fanatic, this book definately had to be read, moreso with the classes being offered online(which I am taking)I could not be left behind. Eckhart shows the various ways the ego maifests itself in various forms.I liked the part where Eckhart says that every human has a dysfunction. it all depends on it's degree. And the begining of realizing one's sanity is the true conscious awakening. This is book that prodes deep thinking in trying to identify the real "I" ... Read More |
