I paid $50 for Eyewitness Italy when I bought the book in Rome. Best to buy it before leaving the US, not after. The street maps of Rome are particularly good. If you are an information junky like me, one travel guide is never enough so expect to buy additional guides. I read the one on Great Britain and thoroughly enjoyed it. This one on "Italy," seems to be just as good. I have not used the Eyewitness Guides to plan a trip so I'm not sure how helpful they are for that.
