Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there's solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized."

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - food for thought
the language in this book IS vulgar, but if you can get past that it is also VERY thought-provoking. i was more offended by the slaughter of animals than i was by the language used in the book.

i read it yesterday and decided to go VEGAN immediately. i am taking this one meal and one day at a time -- so that it is all not so overwhelming. HOPE IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE both to the world and to me.

HOPE IT INSPIRES YOU TO DO THE SAME.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Did Paris Hilton write this? No? Really? She could have!
You have to have a certain cheeky attitude to enjoy this book. Some of it is written like Paris Hilton wrote it with a nutritionist sitting over her shoulder inserting footnotes. And speaking of footnotes, or rather endnotes - there are ALOT in this book and some are from books written 20 years ago by other wannabe "experts" with little substance. It's almost like a girl's high school science class report on "why girls should be a vegan and look like a model".
But it is a little fun and a ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Skinny Bitch
This book is a real eye opener. I have become a vegan since reading this book. I love that they are real and not beating around the bush. As americans there is alot we dont know that goes on behind the scene. Great book, the animal chapter made me cry though but i still love the book!!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Some good...mostly bad.
Well, the first review said most of what I was thinking, except the one lady does have an M.S. in Nutrition. The good points... nuts are important, especially almonds. I'm glad they mentioned this. Fruit actually has very little nutrition, but for some with vitamin C and some with potassium that we need.

Yes we did eat dead rotting carcasses. We were scavengers and ate any dead animal we could find, any egg we could steal from a nest and didn't eat a lot of grain. So, their science ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great book!
im almost done with this book and its absolutely fantastic! it is great to read about the meat and dairy industry. more people should read this book to find out about all the horrors that occur. i am mostly vegan, but after reading certain topics in this book, i want to become even more vegan and not eat dairy either. this book also teaches how to become healthier and to not eat all these chemicals, and instead to eat organic.
