This book is the only test prep guide that contains questions and topics from actual tests administered worldwide. It contains verbal and quantitative questions from seven actual GRE General Tests and sample analytical writing topics from the complete pool of topics for the analytical writing measure. It includes information about the structure of the test, answering procedures, explanations of correct answers for verbal and quantitative questions, sample writing responses with scores, scoring information, a math review, and test-taking strategies. ![]() Rating: - GRE Preparation OngoingCertainly better than taking a GRE-prep class. Worth the money I paid for this book, exams were extremely helpful, the other sections didn't give too much more than common sense would suggest. Rating: - Outstanding Study ToolIf you intend to take the GRE, you'd be silly not to get this book. It's written by ETS, the body responsible for the GRE. It's a book filled with old tests plus explanations of every single answer. I have also have the Princeton Review general guide and this is great to use in tandem. This is a knockout buy. Rating: - Good complement, but certainly not enoughIt is a good book because it has former GRE questions and the students can see the level of difficulty of each question. But needs to be complemented with a goood review of strategies and a much better math review. One problem of this book is that the questions that presents are so old that it does not include new topics. Rating: - Great for drilling AFTER you have learned strategiesThese are REAL tests published by the test-makers. This is the best way to practice for the GRE once you have learned the Kaplan strategies. When I tutor my GRE students, we start with the Kaplan Comprehensive Program book to learn the skills and strategies, then practice with this book. This book is written by the test-makers, so the first part of the book covers more material than is actually tested. I do not use this part of the book with my students, but the REAL tests are invaluable! ... I proctor GRE exams every day, and hear the feedback of hundreds of students. This prep book, published by ETS, is one of the WORST out there. It does a lousy job of content preparation. In my opinion, ETS is trying too hard to protect their exam. This prep guide does not focus on providing a solid review of exam content. This book is a waste of paper. Spend your money on the Barron's, Kaplan, or Princeton Review GRE prep guides w/ ... Read More |
