![]() Rating: - A Lost Story ReturnsShada has one of the most complicated behind the scenes stories of all time. Originally conceived as the six-part finale of the 1979-1980 season of Doctor Who by Douglas Adams (then script editor and creator of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy) and was extensively set at Cambridge University. Now all of the location filming at Cambridge had been completed and some of the studio work done before an actors strike halted the production. Then the decision was made not to finish all of the filming. Then ... Read More Rating: - Still In-Complete & Over the TopHow does one rate an incomplete episode? Dr who adventures like most TV, was not filmed in sequence but rather by location. For example; all scences filmed in the studio set of the Professor's library would be shot together regardless of when they actually appeared in the episode. Rating: - Though imcomplete, any Tom Baker fan still should get this.I just watched Shada 2 nights ago, and let me preface this review by saying that Tom Baker always was, and always will be my favorite Doctor. Having said that, I'll probably always enjoy any Doctor Who episode that has Mr. Baker in it, and Shada was no exception. I believe this would have been a 4 1/2 to 5 star episode, had it been completed. There really wasn't nearly as much narration, as I thought there'd be. The video runs about 110 minutes, and I'm guessing that there's about 15 to 20 minutes of narration ... Read More |
