Why has this not been released in DVD format. I absolutely hate the fact that a terrific movie such as this will go unnoticed, to a whole new generation of movie goers. This movie allows Michael Caine to flex his acting chops, and portray the futilistic, down on love writer, who has given up on life and love. Then along comes Sally Field ... Steel Magnolias was the first one that I saw among Sally Field's movies, and I tend to backtrack her from there. It was interesting to see totally different her in Surrender, but her fundemental characters and actings are still there. One night, I turned on TV and I saw her.
