Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Janis Saffell is one of the better videotape instructors around; her directions are clear yet not condescending, her tone is motivational without being overly perky, and her exercises are easy to follow. Crunch's Brand New Butt is a 30-minute video designed to tone and firm your bottom. The workout is deceptively easy-looking, yet quite challenging when you actually begin to lift and squat along with the class. The beginning exercises, which warm up your legs, are followed by four sections of lower body movements--two sets standing, two sets on the floor--and the tape closes, of course, with a cool-down. Two- to five-pound weights are necessary, as is a chair or step top for balance (although the more advanced may choose to skip it). --Jenny Brown

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - NOT aerobics!
Don't listen to the comments claiming this is an aerobic video.

Like almost all toning videos, it does begin with a light aerobic warm-up, but it's not complicated and it's over with quickly. The rest of the video is standing glute work, such as squats and lunges, followed by mat work. I love Janis Saffell, she is upbeat and a little perky but not at all annoying.

The mat work was really excellent. It contains a lot of exercises I've never seen that you can really feel ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - the best butt toning video!
i've been doing this video since '93, and have not found a better one since. i came online to find it in dvd format. tragically i didnt find it. this is a no nonsense, right to the point 30 min video that if done regularly 3-4/week produces amazing results. i dont like alot of silly dance steps - i like to get my workout in fast. it really takes so little time but targets and isolates the muscle group so well that it really works. this video is why i still have a vhs player!!! thanks to this video ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Owwww and wow
I admitt, I don't do a lot of leg/butt exercizes, but this tape is grueling yet worth it! I found it to be easy to follow along to, motivating, and a great work-out. I could see the results within a few weeks. By the time you're on the floor with the weight on your hip, you'll really really feel it. It's fast-paced, it works, and it's addictive once you get going. It really works those glute muscles, you'll feel it and cringe through the exercizes, then breathe a sigh of relief when you get to stretch ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - wow my butt!
this tape is right on the money my behind hurts everytime i do these seemingly easy moves. they seem so easy and then suddenly i realize they are really effective. it is quick fun and wonderful..

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I hate aerobics!
From the description of this video and the customer reviews, I couldn't tell this tape was mainly aerobics. Most of the moves were really fast combo moves, I have a really hard time following this type of workout. From now on, I'm going to stick with Pilates and Yoga type workouts and weight training.
