 Rating:  - Incredibly good suspense film This is an amazing film that has so much suspense and atmosphere it truly pulls the viewer in. There's plenty of shocks which are excellently timed, and when the alien does appear it doesn't disappoint in the least. The cast are all superb and the direction is incredible. A fantastic film. The very essence of this movie is also what you DON'T see- the "alien", instead you see dripping water, shadows, you HEAR the screams, but what's causing them??? Where is it? I recently bought this DVD and watched it again. Still very well acted and sets up its sequel, Aliens, very well. The computer technology ("Mother") on the Nostromo is very dated. The movie "2001, A Space Odyssey" had technology that we still haven't been able to duplicate and it was released 11 years earlier.
