Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The final Godzilla feature of the first series (his 15th feature in just over 20 years) picks up in the direct aftermath of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. The ape-men from outer space are back, cheesy makeup and all, and this time they've enlisted a bitter scientist to help them rebuild Mechagodzilla and bring another monster into the fray, the gargantuan sea serpent Titanosaurus, which the scientist has brought under control. This film reunited the Big G with veteran director IshirĂ´ Honda and original composer Akira Ifukube (who revives his brooding score) in an attempt to steer the series from its juvenile course back to a more adult track. The result is an energetic, loopily engaging sci-fi fantasy, with the Godzilla back at his old Tokyo stomping grounds--only this time he's protecting the city. It's a giant monster turf war with plenty of destruction and a terrific battle to the finish with the mechanized menace, but when Godzilla wanders back into the ocean he has entered a 10-year hibernation, returning in time for his 30th anniversary in Godzilla 1985. --Sean Axmaker

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Man, The Myth, The Legend
I've been a godzilla fan when they used to come on fox 5 before kung fu theatre on saturdays. I was excited when toho put both the uncut japanese and the english versions on the same dvd. The dvd is put together very well. The picture quality is excellent, sound is excellent and the special features are excellent for a godzilla dvd.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - FINALLY! The UNCUT U.S. version is available!
For those who are not aware, this film was originally released to U.S. theaters as "TERROR OF GODZILLA". This version of the film was heavily edited, removing bad language and any scenes of violence. This version of the film was so badly chopped-up that it is barely watchable. Later, UPA re-released the film to U.S. TV as "TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA". With the exception of a brief "nude" shot of the cyborg girl's artificial breasts, the film was uncut and included a brief "History of Godzilla" prologue ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Mechagodzilla's Revenge
Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to see this movie and it has plenty of monster action in the end. I think this movie is good but not as great as the Godzilla movies in the 60's. There is one point in the movie though that Katsura and the old guy disappear after destroying the super sonic gun.

I always wonder if Titanosaurus did step on those kids or Godzilla saved them. If you really want to see Mechagodzilla destroy Tokyo then you'll enjoy this movie.

One should note that ... Read More
