Elvis Presley's seventh film was the first of his "Hawaii trilogy" (including Girls! Girls! Girls! and Paradise, Hawaiian Style). While its story is daft--the King has just been released from his Army posting in Italy and returned to the islands, where he's trying to avoid working in his father's fruit business--the music is not: "Blue Hawaii," "Almost Always True," and the beautiful "Can't Help Falling in Love." Angela Lansbury plays Elvis's mother, who can't seem to get through to him. Directed by the star's frequent collaborator, Norman Taurog (G.I. Blues). --Tom Keogh

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Elvis and Hawaii = great movie!
This is one of my favorite Elvis movies. I love everything about it, but my number one favorite thing about this movie is Elvis. He lights up the screen and when he sings "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" I melt. This along with Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, and Live a Little Love a Little are 4 great Elvis movies to own.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The must have Elvis movie
This is the must have Elvis movie for any Elvis fan. My dad got me hooked on Elvis movies as a kid, and this is the favorite. If you are looking to purchase one for yourself or a friend and just starting a collection, start with this one. It will not disappoint.

I actually purchased this copy as an x-mas gift for my cousins daughter (who at the age of 9 is an avid Elvis fan) and within 3 days she was quoting the movie. She absolutely loved it:)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - ELVIS' BIGGEST GROSSER!
This was the film with which Hal Wallis financed his most prestigous film 'Becket' with Burton and O'Toole. This fact was not lost on Elvis who always harbored serious acting ambitions but seldom if ever had the oppportunity. Needless to say, he did the best he could with what he had. As Chad, he struggles to break free of his parents' world of entitlement and strikes out on his own. In doing so, he rebels against the social conventions of his class and race embracing the indigenous culture and it's ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A nice film
This was fun to watch... not just for the plotline and the music but for the scenary as well. Many of Honolulu's landmarks are recognizeable in this film, such as Diamond Head and Ala Moana Park.

One of the great things about this movie is how much fun Elvis looks like he's having while doing it. Even the comedies made nowadays look as if the people involved with them wished they could get them over with so they can get to the nearest pro-al-Qaida rally. In sharp contrast, Elvis looks as ...
