The expectations were high, and while not everything clicked, there was enough good stuff for the legend to continue. "That Would Be Something," "Man We Was Lonely," "The Lovely Linda," and "Teddy Boy" all make the grade, but everything is eclipsed by "Maybe I'm Amazed," which remains one of his most enduring songs, up there with anything the Beatles released (and which would have sounded quite at home on Let It Be). --Chris Nickson Amazon.com: Paul McCartney Photos More from Paul McCartney

A true solo album. Some of the songs were being rehearsed in the studio for an upcoming Beatles album titled"Let It Be" . Think John was psst for a reason? The rest is all history now. Yoko didn't break up the Beatles ,Yoko and Linda did. Just listen for yourself.Good music although he could have made it better by having another drummer, maybe a couple of guitarists and some background vocalists. HMMMMM Rating: - Macca's 1st Solo AlbumStill by far Paul's best and first solo release with Linda McCartney. A must have for the Macca Collector! Rating: - McCartney fresh from the BeatlesSo much talent in this recording. Coming shortly after the Beatles breakup, this recording showcases what Paul had written for himself. The album crescendos to "Maybe I'm Amazed", which is......amazing! Rating: - Excellent simple pleasure - brings back memories of simpler timesGreat minimalistic approach from paul - fun disc with great memories attached for me - the measure of music for most people! I enjoyed this solo album for its simple pleasures - has some nice stuff on it and is refreshingly minimalistic in its approach to some classic writing by paul. it sort of balances "Band on the Run" and "Venus and Mars" type studio productions. I think of it as a close and personal type statement about paul's more happy and free time in his professional and ... Read More |
