![]() Rating: - Splendid Little WarA little surprising this one slipped through the cracks and became obscure. Surprising because it's both faithfully based on Phillip Caputo's legendary memoir, and, for a 1980 television production, it's a rather honest look at the war in Vietnam. The story follows Brad Davis from overachieving patriot who sees the war as a testing ground for manhood, to burned out shell, scarred for life. There were a lot of good high ranking line and staff officers in Viet Nam to go with the type Cupoto describes. It's a shame he couldn't give them a fair shake. It's a shame things turned out as they did in Viet Nam. The Domino Theory was as valid in ... Read More |
