Game Boys use three times as much power as NGPCs, though, so using the wrong adapter means risking burning out the unit. Always get the manufacturer's model and avoid universal solutions when you're dealing with power sources, or at least check yourself to make sure the power rating printed on the unit matches the source exactly. It's an AC adaptor, not much to get wrong there. If you don't want it, don't buy it...but don't be scared off by that bizarre anti-AC adaptor rant.
