This is a solid blend of comedy and tragedy, with a strong statement to make about America's treatment of Native Americans without sermonizing.  Rating:  - Biting indictment of the treatment of Native Americans masquerading as a comedyBrilliant, daring film. Part comedy, part parody of every Western genre, and mostly biting commentary on the treatment of Native Americans. Superbly acted with a standout performance by Richard Mulligan as a smug yet crazy General George Armstrong Custer. Rating: - classi comedySometimes a film comes out that is simply a timeless piece of work, Such is the case for "Little Big Man" Dustin Hoffman shows that he is a true master of timing and along with his dramatic roles that he is a very sound comedian. Today, when I was looking to find the paperback version of the story, I though I'd take a glance at my review. And, what did I find? NO review! Why was this done, yes, I'd like to know. I've been very saddened by this action. Rating: - DUSTIN HOFFMANWhat can you say about Dustin Hoffman in the Late 60's to the '80. In one of his greatest roles Dustin excells with his great supporting cast. Very successful playing 3 roles in one and tells an interesting side of the Native American plight. If you're an fan of the movies of this time period. This is a must have. |
