Editorial Review: Product Description: There's more to going to the movies than seeing the movie itself - it's the popcorn! Now, with the Whirley Pop Popcorn Maker, you can make fluffy, delicious popcorn just like you get at the theater. The stay-cool hardwood handle turns the stainless steel paddle inside, preventing scorching and burning, and making certain every kernel pops up like it should. The steam vents on top allow moisture to escape so the popcorn is always light and tender. Much quicker than microwaving, the popper makes up to 6 quarts and comes with a 25 year warranty. Also included with the popper is 1 popcorn packets (each one making up to 6 quarts) and "secret ingredient" flavoring packets that give the popcorn that movie-popcorn taste. The popper also comes with a recipe book for more popcorn flavor ideas.Pan is made of aluminum and the lid is made of stainless steel and aluminum. Amazon.com Review: Face it, sometimes the best thing about going out to a movie is the popcorn, those big plump kernels that always seem so much better than what you pop at home. But this simple stovetop popper changes all that. It really does make awesome, fresh-popped corn that might make you start renting videos instead. The sturdy aluminum pan has a clip-on lid with a stay-cool wooden handle. A turn crank on the handle spins the key element: the stainless steel stirring system that keeps the corn moving across the bottom of the pan, for even heat and oil distribution, ensuring the best popping results. The lid has steam vents, to help keep the popcorn dry and crisp. The enclosed booklet is a wonderful resource, with not only clear and detailed instructions, but also dozens of recipes and popcorn history and lore. These are folks who really do know their popcorn, and the results are outstanding. --Cynthia Nims Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Popcorn fanThis was for my husband. He loves popcorn and the whirly pop is the only thing he likes to pop it in. Well while we were on vacation the older kids broke his. We sure don't know how because we have had it for ever and never any problem with it. Anyway we ordered one and it came in damaged. You could tell it was damaged in shipping. I got on line and they sent me out another one and we used the label to ship the damaged one back for free. Kodos to Amazon! Well my husband got his whirly pop ... This is so easy to use, our grandkids enjoy helping me make the popcorn. It's easy for us grandparents to use too! Makes great popcorn. Rating: - Excellent popper!I am so glad I purchased this popper. It is ten times better than the air popper I used to own and 100 times better than microwave popcorn. The key thing to remember is that you must season it first with vegetable oil, which the instructions tell you how to do....very easy, just heat up the pan with oil for a few seconds then wipe it out. After that, you use canola oil when you pop the corn. Don't use too much popcorn as it will not pop properly. The book says 1/2 cup, but I prefer 1/3 cup. ... You DO NOT need to make a huge investment or be a culinary genius. You can home roast inexpensively and without fancypants equipment. Acquire the following: Whirley Pop popcorn maker Coleman "One Burner" propane stove a colander green coffee Part 1 - setup This process produces A LOT of smoke. ... Read More Rating: - Old fashioned popperThis makes great tasting popcorn and uses very little oil so is healthier than microwave for sure. The metal is pretty thin, especially the lid so it has to be handled carefully. I've learned you must follow the portion directions exactly or you will end up with burned popcorn or a mess of oil on the lid. Be sure to send in the warranty card because it is a pretty flimsy popper! |
