Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The Mix Tape Vol. 3 was subtitled The Final Chapter. And that's what it should have been. But DJ/hip-hop opportunist Funkmaster Flex has once again rounded up the usual suspects for 26 cuts of his all too familiar mix tape flair. The LOX's Jadakiss continues his endless campaign for a solo career with the synthed-out "I Don't Care." M.O.P. go uncomfortably commercial with their remix of the underground hit "Ante Up," which features king of hip-hop crossover Busta Rhymes and newcomer Remy Martin. Faith Evans and Ginuwine add new and somewhat interesting R&B flavor, and Eminem and the D-12 impress as always on the bass-heavy "Words Are Weapons." Nature's "The Needle" is also a gem. But the rest is just costume jewelry--Flex Protégés Inc. and artists who come off like they're just doing it for the exposure. Without Flex's filler and ad-libs, the true funk here would probably add up to only 20 minutes. --Kenji Jasper

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - CAN I GO BACK TO THE TUNNEL??
This album is more like a mixtape than any of Flex's other efforts. I usually dont like mixtapes. Its impossible to get the best artists to give up quality tracks that you know they need for thier own albums. by this time, dj clue is annoying everybody with the shout outs in the background so thank goodness flex is better than that. other than a few songs mentioned by dmx, jadakiss and faith i found no reason to play this album over again. this prompts me to ask, Can we go back to the tunnel?? ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Decent "mixtape" from Flex - maybe 3.5 stars
Funkmaster Flex is back on the boards again to bring another "mixtape". This is more of a compilation album, he doesn't send out shouts over the songs that much (which actually is good) but there are not many freestyles that are common on mixtapes, just a lot of 2 verse songs and a few R&B ones as well. Not as good as Vol. 2 though and about equal w/ Vol. 3 ( I never heard Vol. 1). It has no classic songs but 2 classic freestyles, and out of the 23 "songs" there's 7 or 8 I skip. Overall it is a pretty ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not as good as vols 1, 2, 3
Flex gets commercial on this latest mixtape............in fact, this to me ain't a mixtape at all. Where's the scratchin'? Where's the shouts? On previous mixtapes, Flex would take it back to the old school..........that's not in this album at all. Expect for Ante Up remix and Goodlife, this album is just average. If you listen to his first three mixtapes (classics, might I add), you'll see what I'm talking about.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Funk Flex's Best Mix
Funkmaster Flex is the best rap/hip hop dj out there. and here he delivers his best album yet. on this one he has rap all stars such as dmx, eminem, ludacris, ja rule and many more... but also other rappers such as lil bow wow and drag-on bring out thier best. i dont really like lil bow wow or jermain dupri but on this cd funk flex makes them sound good, and he does the same for many other rappers

the bottom line is you should cop this album cus its the best rap mix out there!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - 'Just Bought It'
I just bought this album from the shop, and i was attracted to it because it the 'Ante Up' Remix in it. I have had a quick glance through the album and the intro sounds pretty good, other hits on it is 'Come Over' Feat. Nelly, "Did She Say " So So Def with Lil' Bow Wow. I have a feeling that when i really get into this album their will be bad songs and good songs but hopefully the good songs will make up for the bad ones. But who knows.
