Terrorists operate openly, killing thousands, while drugs, disease, and pollution kill even more. The world's economics are close to collapse, and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor has grown to the size of the Grand Canyon. Worst of all, believers of an age-old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control. No one believes the conspiracy exists--no one but you. The adaptation of this role-playing adventure for the PlayStation2 retains all of the levels and missions of the PC original. You are J.C. Denton, a powerful, nanotechnologically augmented antiterrorist agent. It's up to you to stop the conspirators from achieving their goals. But this world is full of lies and betrayal, a world where nothing is as it seems and entire nations can seemingly be turned against you at the push of a button. To succeed, you must travel the globe in a quest for knowledge, develop your character's nanotech augmentations and strengths as you see fit, build a network of allies to assist you, and determine when stealth and strategy are more important than action. And each time you think you've got the mystery solved and the game figured out, there's another, deeper mystery to unravel. You will never know whom to trust, who your friends are, who's in the conspiracy, and who's innocent. Maybe no one is. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - FPSRPGDeus Ex seamlessly combines two of the biggest genres in video gaming: first person shooters and role-playing games. While the graphics are certainly dated by today's standards, the game is not short on fun. The weapons are customizable, all of the nano-aug powers are upgradeable, and the skill system is easy to learn. This game is great for RPG fans and FPS fans alike, and even better for fans of both. Rating: - One of the best games everI played the PC version of the game a while ago and it was one of the best games ever made. I got the PS2 version because I wanted to play it again but didn't have the CD anymore. The PS2 version has the same great plot and innovative gameplay. The only drawback is the levels are split into smaller zones, so there's more loading time. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. Rating: - This one never gets oldI could replay Deus Ex once a year because it is so cool, different, and has a nifty storyline. You can affect the way the game goes by making different decisions at crucial times. Plus, their is an educational component to the story. It does give lots of interesting facts in conspiracy-related areas. You can't lose! Rating: - FUNThis is one of the greatest games of all time. The plot is incredible, keeping you on your toes throughout the gaming experience. The grapics are decent, especially for the age of this game and the system it was on. I loved the opportunity to make choices that determined my character's progression. A little RPG and a little FPS = a lot of FUN Rating: - HUGE disappointmentI like alot of other reviewers here got this game because everyone had the PC version and was ranting and raving about how great it was. I'm not gunna dwell much on the graphics, because if you've read any of the other reviews you'll know it looks like an atari game. Not even to be mean, trying to figure out the "multiple" ways to solve a problem is pretty darn tough when everything in the game looked like a pixilated mess. Probably the one thing i couldnt get over the during the game ... Read More |
