Editorial Review:

Amazon.com Product Description:
Street Hoops is a gritty, street-style basketball game that encompasses the look, speed, energy, and attitude of park and playground blacktop competition. The game allows players to represent their hometowns in a nationwide tournament on the most notorious street courts in the nation. Players can choose from a roster of athletes and performers, including key athletes made famous by the And 1 mix tapes and Nike's Freestyle commercial series.

Realism is the rule. Players are allowed to bet cash on competitions and buy authentic real-world gear--including Sean John, Ecko Unlimited, Southpole, and Pure Playaz--with their cash. On the court, you can talk trash, shout, and throw an elbow, if need be. The game features multiple modes of play, including World Tournament, King of the Court, Multiplayer vs., and Half-Court. Street Hoops offers a wide variety of real freestyle basketball moves and a hip-hop soundtrack.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - There are many better games.
Okay. Street Hoops does have great features to this game. Things such as movies to unlock, and cheats to enter. Every time you play a game, whether in Lord of the Court or in World Tournament Mode, and even in a Pick-Up game you can earn some money to pay for some great jewelry and tatoos, hairstyles and even brand clothing like And 1 and P. Miller. Sad to say, these things I just mentioned are the best part of the game.

When you are actually in the game, which is why most people play ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Missing the point
A careful look at most of the good reviews will reveal that the reviewers are more impressed with the hype of brand name clothing and court varieties than the actual game play. Obviously, more time was spent on researching courts and players than coding the game.

First of all, team uniforms are so similar that you're not sure if you have the ball or not. (Maybe the makers of the game are color blind). By the time you figure it out, the other team would have scored. The commentary is totally ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - BEST BACK COURT GAME ON -XBOX-!
This is a slick looking, ball dunking, in your-face basket ball game. But if you want a game with more depth, more options, and more players, than pick up NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2003! The blacktop is home to some of the best players in the world: Hot Sauce, Headache, 1/2 Man 1/2 Amazing. From Rucker Park in NYC to the Venice Beach courts in L.A., they rock rims and break ankles. Play as one of these street legends, using their crazy hops and mad handles to school your opponents, or build your own baller ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Stupidest Basketball Game Out There!
You get the game...you start having fun...you can hardly make a 3 point shot... you think your doing good and then when you get about 8 points and your winning...the computer starts playing against you...the computer makes about 9 3 point shots in a row and dosn't let you score...! Let me save you so much agrovation a please don't get it trust me...it's not worth it!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Everything great, but the gameplay
This game is neat if you are used to games like NBA Shootout, but if you have played games like Live and Inside Drive you won't like this game. Every thing is really neat except the gameplay. You get to pick bling, tattoos, clothes, shoes, and even hairstyles, but how are you supposed to win when the defense makes every shot they take...
