When you're bathing an infant, especially when they are only one or two months old, you can feel that they are securely held in the sling and aren't going to slip down or to the side in an awkward position. I was never able to get it to fit in the sink because the water handles in the sink prevented it from being secure. It felt lopsided and unsafe.
