Crisp detail and color with up to 4800 optimized dpi (on premium photo papers and 1200 x 1200 input dpi when printing from a computer) or up to seven-ink printing. Print directly from your digital camera memory card using convenient card slots - without using a computer.

Amazon.com Product Description:
The HP PhotoSmart 7550 brings exceptional quality, speed, and precision photo printing to home desktops. Crisp detail and rich, vivid color arrive through an optimized maximum resolution of 4,800 dpi, while advanced paper sensors automatically adjust the print settings for best quality.

The HP PhotoSmart 7550's most remarkable feature is a front-panel color LCD screen that lets you preview and edit photos before printing. With the 7550, you can print directly from your digital camera memory card without using a computer. Compatible with CompactFlash Types I and II, SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and Sony Memory Stick memory media, the printer can produce borderless photos using the 4-by-6-inch photo paper tray and HP Premium Plus photo paper.

The paper tray holds up to 100 sheets of varying sizes, and is built to accommodate heavyweight glossy pages without frustrating jams. Specially designed HP inks and papers resist fading twice as long as traditionally processed photos--up to 65 years in some cases. The included software bundle lets you organize and file images in a variety of ways--even create custom slide shows viewable on a PC or TV via a DVD player. Plus, Windows users can organize and store digital photos on CD-ROM and print favorites.

The USB-equipped HP PhotoSmart 7550 is compatible with either PC or Macintosh and has all drivers, power cords, and ink cartridges included right in the box. Hewlett-Packard provides a one-year warranty that covers parts and service.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Stupidest Loading Cartridge Ever!
Can't believe it will move the cartridge while cartridge clamp & cover is open. Almost broke itself!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Printer!
This printer is excellent. My father died and I used the printer
to print photos for an album. The pictures came out perfect. I have found this to be an excellent printer for everything.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Was a good printer in its day, but a $300 tag by sellers NOW?? WHY?
This was one of my faves but coincidentally, just after the warranty expired, all three printer cartridge holders (plastic holders where one snapped the cartridge in) broke off completely rendering the printer useless. But boy, it was a great printer while it lasted -- which, in my case seemed all too short and highly disappointing! Equally disappointing are the current ads for sale of this printer... Shame on the people/business today, STILL selling (or trying to sell) this printer for $299.00 and ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Crucial pieces broke off
I have had my 7550 printer for 3 years. After the 2 year point the black cartridge stopped working. Replacing it didn't work so I used it in "reserve mode" for a year (only using the other more expensive color cartridges). Today one of the color cartridges stopped working. I found a tiny black piece of plastic at the site, so I checked all three. Lo and behold, the little black pieces that hold the cartridges in place are missing from the two cartridge doors that are not working. I checked the ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Printer I ever owned
I love HP printers, but this one takes the top award. It prints photos, word documents, and whatever else you want it to with ULTRA high quality. The LCD just adds to the design. Ink can be expensive as this model holds ALL 3 (black and white, color and photo) all at once, unlike lower models. Its easier though, and well worth it! This is some printer.
