Future mechwarrior games were turned into more arcade friendly FPS style games and abandoned most of the simulation and customization of this and earlier titles. Rating: - a necessary add-on to Mech 4If you want to expand your Mech universe this is a needed piece of software. It does work on XP and Vista but you have to run it as administrator. This adds the mercenaries viewpoint to your battlemech software. Rating: - Fun for different play stylesI absolutely enjoy this game. In fact, I find myself laughing whenever I get off some really good hits on other mechs. I spend a great amount of time in the mechlab working on my team and making them as effective as possible. I find that you can micromanage as much or little as you want and you'll still be able to beat most of the missions. There are some that are really hard, but it's still enjoyable. If you like to piloting 100 ton armored Mechs with enough wepons to level a city, then this is the game for you. The fight for money in this version is added fun and the arenas are another fun new twist. If you get a chance grab a Sidewinde joystick for extra piloting control. 5 stars for fun, the overall fun is 4 stars because Microsoft should have incuded the MekPaks for free.
