Editorial Review: Product Description: weather-resistant finish * designed for dual- and triple-LNB dishes * built-in amplifier (gain: +18 dB for VHF, +12 dB for UHF) * internal diplexers combine dish and antenna signals * four external TV/SAT diplexers for indoor use * four 32" RG-6 cables with weather boots, plus eight 12" RG-6 cables * 25-1/2"W x 9-1/8"H x 3-3/16"D * warranty: 1 year Amazon.com Product Description: The limitations of satellite TV have often revolved around local programming, which satellite providers occasionally don't offer (depending on where you live) or charge for on a per-receiver basis. The Terk TV44 amplified TV antenna remedies this impasse by giving dish owners free, constant access to all programming transmitted over the local airwaves, including HD channels and community stations. The antenna installs easily--simply clip it on your existing satellite dish (no tools required) and it's ready to go. Once installed, its high-quality internal amplifier minimizes signal loss, further aiding the antenna's highly tuned and efficient receiving elements. The end result is the best reception possible whether you're enjoying VHF or UHF stations or HD channels. The TV44 is also weather-resistant, meaning it doesn't wear down easily. The antenna is compatible with all mini-dish systems (which generally measure 18 by 20 or 24 inches) with dual LNBs. It also comes with all the necessary cables. What's in the Box TV44 antenna, four 32-inch coaxial cables, eight 12-inch coaxial cables, user's manual. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - HD problemAntenna works great on local stations and the range was surprising. However, it cutout the HD portion of the signals. Seems I could have local channels or HD but not both. DirecTV. Still experimenting. Rating: - Really Bad InstructionsI should have listened to the reviews I read before purchasing the Terk tv44. I still have not be able to get any reception from this product. When it is connected it weakens the signal from the dish channels. If your up for a challenge and don't mind poor results this product is for you. Steve Roselle Illinos Rating: - not pleased!Although this unit attached physically to my dish easily, that's all that went smoothly. The wiring schematic was not accurate for my dish. It also doesn't pull in any stations in my area without static. I can only pull a few stations and they aren't great by any means. I tried to mount it somewhere else and got a marginal difference. I have tried to connect it different ways but the result is all the same. I would not recommend this product as a result of my experience. Rating: - works well, not what I expectedThe product mounted easily, but wiring the antenna was a bit of a challenge. The diagram was a little tricky to figure out, besides the fact they give you many different wiring options. The biggest part is figuring out which way to wire the unit. I had hoped to pull in more stations that it did but it does work well for the ones it does pull in. Rating: - Works as advertised! We were quite pleased with the performance of the Terk antenna. It rivaled that of the amplified antenna on our RV. Even though we get local channels from Direct TV, it is really nice to be able to view them in HD. |
