Not only is it wonderful to have a nylon knife for cutting lettuce (to avoid browning), but it is great for cutting into a nonstick pan. For example, if you make lasagne, fudge, a 9x13" cake, or any one of a number of things that might be made in a nonstick baking pan and you need to cut portions right out of the pan. It's really long so even if you had the biggest head of lettuce ever it would be able to go all the way through the diameter. The teeth of the knife are really nice and sharp.
