The La Crosse TX6U works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It can transmit to a base up to 80 feet away. The TX6U can be added to augment information coming to La Crosse units already in operation. Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; then replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. Multiple sensors can be assigned a number so that it will be clear which information from which sensor is displayed. The TX6U operates on two AA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. The sensor works with all La Crosse weather clocks and stations except the Professional Weather Center Series: WS-2010, WS-2210, WS-2310, WS-2315 and WS-2510. For options in wall mounting, two screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The TX6U measures 5-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1 inch.  Rating:  - works like a champ.Bought a replacement for the one I had for roughly 4 years. Both have worked wonderfully. Rating: - Does what it's supposed toDoes what it's supposed to. Easy to set up and install. But read the setup instructions! Rating: - Great replacementThis is the identical unit that came with the clock. Works as advertised. Just be sure to screw mount the clip-in housing, instead of using the band-aid like double stick tape that comes with it. It fell off in three days and it hadn't even rained. Rating:  - Does the job mostlyI've had La Crosse temperature sensors @ both my houses, in Michigan & New Mexico. The outdoor sensors can't survive flooding; other than that, they work fine, altho not forever. The New Mexico one just died after 5 years; the Michigan one disappeared for a while & when it came back, it was off by about 10 degrees. Weird. Rating: - Simple Remote Temperature SensorHooking up the remote sensor to my la crosse atomic projection clock was very simple. I just took out the batteries reset the clock with the sensor beside it and they found each other immediately. My only complaint is the sensor constantly reads about 8 degrees warmer than all my other thermometers. Overall it was a great product for the price. Just wish it was a little more accurite. |
