Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
What makes writer Joe DiPietro stand out in the musical-theater landscape is that he leaves art to the likes of Michael John LaChiusa or Adam Guettel and focuses on the lives of the kind of young, professional husbands and wives you may actually know. Unfortunately he's not particularly witty and neither is his regular accomplice, composer Jimmy Roberts. After the Off-Broadway success of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the pair adapted Doris Dörrie's movie Men for the stage in 2003. The result, as demonstrated on this cast album, is a fairly dull tale of relationships and male bonding. The leads (including Thoroughly Modern Millie's Marc Kudisch) are amiable enough, but Jennifer Simard particularly shines in a variety of supporting roles; she steals the show with "Highway of Your Heart," a country pastiche that should have been longer. Could we have a new Madeline Kahn on our hands? --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointing
After falling head over heels for I Love You, You're Perfect I was very excited to hear this album, but it was a complete disappointment. I didn't find myself falling in love with characters or songs, or even caring to follow the story. The singers are OK; the lyrics fall flat at almost every turn; and the story is a snore. I would not suggest this for anyone except the collectors. Favorite song: "The Better Man Won"

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Clever and entertaining
I picked up this CD in a bargain bin at a discount store, was dissappointed when I read the other two reviews. However, I disagreed with both after listening. I thought the songs were delightful, delivered by an excellent singing cast. Lyrics were very clever. This show ran off-Broadway for 222 performances before this recording was made, so it had to have something going for it.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - What's this "Thing About Men"?
Must agree with MingBing "melly"- this was a disappointing CD. Picked it up as a lark along with SUNDOWN and THE IMMIGRANT (needless to say, I enjoy hearing something new.) MEN just didn't cut it for me. Lackluster score with only the occasional bright spots, which were not enough to win me over. (How did this show ever run in NYC?) Of the three CDs, SUNDOWN is the only one I listen to on a regular basis (and why hasn't this show been done in NYC?)

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointing.
I bought this random CD cos I thought I'd never go wrong with a musical recording but this one was a disappointment. I just want to fall in love with an album at a first listen but this one didn't do it for me. It lacks catchy songs. And it seemed a little short.

Save your money for something better.

ETA: 'Downtown Bohemian Slum' sounds like a ripoff of 'Mountain Town' from Southpark.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - TERRIBLE!
This had to be on of the worst shows I have ever listened to! I baught it because I love you, your perfect, now change is one of my fav. shows, however this one was just terrible. Not funny, long, boring, the vocaals are terrible dont waste your money!
