 Rating:  - The best radar detector on the market... BAR NONE!!!Since getting this radar detector over 2 years ago i have not had one ticket. I've also slowed down just a bit, but still have a lead foot. This detector has picked up police over 2 miles away and even over slight rises in the road. it's a load of money for a detector, but it's been invaluable to me on my 160 mi/day trip. Read More Rating:  - Borrow one before you buy.Escort X50 is plagued by false alarms on the Laser and Pop channels. Please borrow a friends and test in your car first. I have tested in 4 different cars and everything from the horn to the turbo charging spooling up will cause this thing to go wild. I tried working with Escort to resolve problem but they wanted 65 dollars to place foil over the sensor to (Dumb down my detector). I've already given to much money to escort. I picked it up for a road trip across the southern USA. I tested it out around Los Angeles and got a few false alarms but I also found a few motor cops hiding. Besides the price differential, x50 offers better pop protection, is less sensitive in the city driving and offers more up-to-date interface.
