Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Fun but not productive
You have to freeze the bowl. Mix the ingridients first. And then after about 18 to 20 hours, you can make a small amount of icecream. I like the cheap bucket mixer in the garage better.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Worked great, but didn't last long...
I bought this a bit over a year ago and loved it. It was so much easier than making the brine for the freezing process. My only disappointment is that mine broke in less than a year. I always kept the bowl in the freezer and my guess is that something bumped one of the tabs on the bowl and cracked it. I didn't find out until I was making a batch and blue liquid slowly started appearing at the base of the bowl. As the bowl thawed so that I could wash it the freezing liquid kept running out more ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - great mixer, worth the price...
I purchased this product mostly because of the KitchenAid brand and have not yet been disappointed by it. I use it with the Professional HD series stand mixer and it really makes a good ice cream, smooth and creamy, without all of the crystals that usually come with home freezers (especially if you're making a lower fat ice cream). I was a little skeptical about having to store it in the freezer, but if you have the room it's well worth it to have it ready to go when you are, and worth not having to ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great ice cream maker for KitchenAid stand mixer owners
Made my first batch of ice cream with this device (Alton Brown's chocolate ice cream recipe naturally) last night. It came out incredibly smooth and, best part, after freezing overnight it was still soft enough to eat. This last point is a big deal because I have friends who have stand-alone freezer bowl ice cream makers and they have told me that the ice cream is good as soft-serve but turns into a rock after freezing overnight. I believe this reflects the fact that the KitchenAid dasher does a better ... Read More

KitchenAid KICA0WH Ice Cream Maker Attachment

My husband loves homemade ice cream. This has been the perfect product for us. He can have it in less than an hour, start to finish. It's so easy to clean. Rinse, dry and place right back in the freezer. If you enjoy making your own, this is for you. Another quality KitchenAid attachment for the mixer.
