Editorial Review: Product Description: Run out of coaxial digital inputs on your receiver? Most receivers only have one coaxial digital input but have several optical inputs. This coaxial to optical converter will allow you to connect the coaxial digital audio output from your DVD, cable or satellite receiver to a TOSlink optical input. Don't buy a new receiver - simply change media formats and get full digital signal sound quality. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Works well, be careful to pick the correct oneWorked as advertised. I only had 1 optical input, but multiple coax digital inputs on my reciever. This converted my blu-ray dvd player optical output to coax digital. There are two similar products, they look exactly the same, but one goes coax-optical, and the other is optical-coax, make sure to get the correct one for your application. Rating: - Doesn't work on everythingI bought this to use with either my DVD player or an HDTV antenna. Neither worked with it. I plugged it into my Onyko 7.1 stereo and it cut out the audio a lot with HDTV antenna and on the DVD never once gave me audio. Funny thing is, on my buddy's older Sony 5.1 stereo system it works. May not work on some receivers. Rating: - Great Product - Highly Recommended!I purchased this product to complement an inexpensive Sony DVD player, the latter providing only a Coax digital audio output. This converter works great, and the price is certainly reasonable. Bear in mind that the included AC adapter should be -- and is -- completely silent. If yours makes any audible noise, you should promptly return/replace it. Rating: - Works wellThis product works as advertised and is very simple to use. The only con is that it has to be plugged into a wall socket in order to work. Rating: - Works fine, as promised, but power adapter noisyThe adapter that powers this thing makes an annoyingly loud buzzing sound. Since this is a product for (presumably) home audio, it's actually somewhat annoying. You won't really notice it when the sound is on, as long as you're listening above a whisper; you can also replace the adapter with a different one if it gets to aggravating (like I did.) The conversion itself works great. For the money, it's a great buy. |
