We had been using the Furminator which is good, but this rake is better. Rating: - A good tool for those difficult areas.I use this rake on my Newfoundland. The hair behind her ears tens to mat from time to time. This cuts through them without much discomfort to the dog, and without having to cut the mat out completely. Ideally, a dog would never get matted enough to need this, but most of us just don't have/take time to stay on top of the grooming 24/7. This tool is nice to have when it's time to play catch-up.
