The Bad: 1) Uneven heating - impossible to cook pancakes evenly, but can get somewhat reasonable results moving things around while cooking. 2) Drip pan too small to store the thermostat so you have to find some place to put it where it won't get lost or fall on your head while you are taking the griddle off the shelf (don't store on top of unit ;-). I took the advice of other reviewers and let it heat up for 10 minutes. The heating element is located around the outside (engineering design flaw) and so there can be cool spots in the center if you don't get it really hot. I am tickled pink with this product!!! Rating:  - Cooks pancakes unevenlyThough this BigGriddle is a simple design, it cooks pancakes unevenly. This is because the heating coil wraps around underneath the thin aluminum griddle just one circumference for such a large surface area.
