Editorial Review: Product Description: Precision Forged Steel / Stainless / Perfect Balance / Made in Germany Amazon.com Review: One of the newest premium lines from Zwilling J.A. Henckels, Twin Cuisine was introduced in 2004 with a major revelation: it's the first high-quality forged cutlery line to feature a molded handle with a visible, full-length tang that runs horizontally. In fact, the handle is absolutely stunning, with the shiny tang curving slightly as it courses through the black nonslip polypropylene. With no rivets or gaps, the ergonomic handle provides seamless comfort, while the full tang adds weight for precision balance. The single-piece blade, forged from high-carbon, no-stain steel and strengthened in Henckels's exclusive Friodur ice-hardening process, retains its sharp edge through extensive cutting and chopping. Made in Germany and covered by a lifetime warranty, Twin Cuisine knives are dishwasher-safe but are best cared for when washed and dried by hand. One of the handiest kitchen knives around, the Twin Cuisine 4-inch parer performs those everyday tasks such as peeling and slicing an apple for lunch or cutting a wedge of cheese for a quick snack. The sharp point digs out brown spots from fruit and vegetables, and the small size is nimble enough for carving carrot rosettes and other garnishes. A pleasure to use, this versatile parer makes an excellent gift for any seasoned or aspiring chef. --Ann Bieri From the Manufacturer
A Higher Standard in Knife Construction Twin Cuisine knives are traditionally forged from a single piece of J.A. Henckels's exclusive high-carbon, no-stain steel formula. The result is a knife with high durability, professional strength, and weight. Twin Cuisine also uses J.A. Henckels's Friodur ice-hardening process, which results in a blade that has excellent cutting-edge retention and corrosion resistance. The blade edge is precision honed and laser controlled to maintain a sharper and consistent blade angle. ![]() New Ergonomic Handle Technology

![]() Rating: - Very heavy for size, Sharp, overkill? We needed a good pearing knife after a tip broke on ours and someone threw it out. After reading reviews of the China based Henkels, I decided since this is one size we use daily, why not spend a few extra and get the real thing. Its been a good one, and was super sharp and the thing is really quite heavy for its size, not a bad thing. Substantial is one way to look at it. Its a good one. Rating: - Nice knife, very substantialThis is a great knife, after trying many paring knives I chose this one. I love the way it has a full size handle, most of my knives are from Shun but their paring knives have handles that are too small and uncomfortable to me, whereas in this series the handles are all nearly the same size. Also this knife has considerable heft for a paring knife, all of the knives in the twin cuisine series are quite heavy, with much of the weight stemming from the full tang handle. In the case ... Read More Rating: - Excellent KnifeThis 4" paring knife is easily one of the best available. The grip is well contoured and rests comfortably in the hand. The blade is razor sharp and thanks to a special process of ice-hardening it should remain so for quite some time. For those who will use the knife often enough, it's a good idea to buy the J.A. Henckels TWIN Pro 'S': 10" Sharpening Steel 32555 260 to help retain the edge almost indefinitely. This is a small lightweight knife that is perfect for cutting cheese, apples, ... Read More Rating: - Excellent Professional KnifeI have older (1996) Henckels Twin Star knives. They were the first knives to feature the one size ergonomic handle regardless of blade length. Awesome handle, but these knives also featured ceramic coated blades that do not need sharpening. They were the best knives at the time of purchasing and also wildly expensive. After 12 years of commercial/home use these knives are still sharp but I still don't like them...nobody does and that's why they don't make them anymore. But the handle was amazing ... Read More Rating: - a great, great knifeI really love this knife, especially the handle. It form fits into my palm and has a decent satisfying heft to it that some of my larger chef's knives just don't have. When I'm looking for a knife, I'm looking for this one every time. It's also managed to keep a good edge for quite a long time. I think you'll be happy if you buy this one, and if you're like me, you may even want to replace all of your knives with this line. Can't recommend it highly enough. |
