Excellent new engine now used in next gen games from ID and others (Prey, Quake4). Game looks gorgeous. Weaknesses are thin story (though this franchise never had or needed one in the past), no offline co-op, no wide open spaces as with original Doom games (though they may be trying to give a clausterphobic feel), not enough Hell levels (but the game is enormously long).
