There were several times that we were about to go for a trip and that I remember I do not have any ready AA batteries for my gadgets. If I still have 15 mins, then it is not too late. If you take a lot of indoor photos for example, one set of batteries can charge in the time that you are depleting another. If your main purpose for using rechargeables is to reduce waste, perhaps you might obtain longer overall battery life with a slower type charger. The only thing I missed is the function of emptying the batteries before recharging them. Despite that, I would definitely recommend it. Rating: - not reliableAfter a year or two of very rare use (maybe once every 2 months), this charger stopped working. I can put any batteries in it and it always fails to charge. You'll know by the dreaded blinking light. Rating: - Another Sony product bites the dust...I must have a Sony curse or something... everything I buy from them breaks right after the warranty expires... 2 camcorders, 2 discmans, my PS2... This worked great for a while, but then started rejecting batteries left and right. I had to re-insert them about 10 times to get the charge to begin.
