 Rating: - the slow cooker is pretty good for its priceIt is really nice. It saves me a lot of time for cooking. However there are two things that I don't like. One is that the cover is not very fit to the container. Besides I hope there is a signal light which can make me know it is cooking or not. Anyway, as it is big enough, I think it is very good for this low price. Rating:  - wonderfulthis was an awesome purchase. it has never been easier to throw a meal together and have a masterpeice in a few hours. Rating: - Replacement KnobMy knob broke after about 5 uses. I e-mailed the company about a replacement and got no response. After reading through the reviews, I saw a suggestion to go to Radio Shack to get a replacement knob. Of course they didn't have one exactly like the one that originally came on the slow cooker (which is probably a good thing since it was such poor quality), but I got a knob that has a little screw in it that can be tightened to allow it to turn the stem. It seems to work fine. I think I paid $2.99 ... Read More Rating:  - no customer support at allI love the way it cooks, BUT the knob broke after I'd had it for about a month, and used it about 4 times (once a week). I glued it back together (as I saw someone else had done in a previous review) but the knob broke again today, and I'd only used it about 3 times since glueing it. I tried to get help from their customer support and was put off and then just ignored. I would recommend buying something else other than this one. Rating: - Cholent pot!I make cholent every week - a stew which cooks for 18-24 hours before we eat. This pot's a winner. It holds the temperature well. It doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" of other slow cookers and because it's oval, it takes less space on my counter than my old slow cooker. I do indulge myself and use "crockpot liners" which makes serving and clean up easy. The Hamilton Beach 33141 is a reasonable price and delivery was quick - even though I took only standard delivery. |
