Brand: Kenko Item Dimensions: Label: Kenko Manufacturer: Kenko Model: Auto Extension Tube Set MPN: AEXTUBEDGC Publisher: Kenko Studio: Kenko Editorial Review: Product Description: Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality. The extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus. The Kenko Auto Extension Tube Set contains three tubes of different length, a 12 mm, 20 mm, and 36 mm, which can be used individually or in any combination to obtain the desired magnification.Kenko's Auto Focus extension tubes are designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure. ![]() Rating: - Compatible with EF and EF-SJust got mines today, works great with both EF and EF-S lenses. The connection points for both are clearly marked. Feels solid and well made. Feels secure hanging 2lb-lens with all three tubes in between. Lighting and depth of field are big challenges if you want big enlargement, since often times I found the distance between the subject and lens is almost zero. Night scene shooting with long exposure is one thing, bright object under great magnification with long exposure is quite ... Read More Rating: - Actually a 4.5.I just bought these tubes 2 days ago from an electronics store in Japan, actually cheaper than on here by about $60, to go with my Canon 40D and 28-135mm kit lens and 100mm f/2 prime lens so I can start getting into macro-photography. I was a little confused at first, but that only lasted about 20 seconds. It didn't take me long to realize that when they say you lose infinity focus, they aren't pulling your leg. I have to be right onto of what I'm shooting to get it in focus, but that ... Read More Rating: - Extension tubesI have used these extension tubes now for over a month and I love them. I have to figure out which one for the different lenses I have but they work great. Rating: - Great for Macro, making a little cheap...This set is great to work Macro with many lens if not all. Depending on the lens that are used on, one can use only one 12mm tube (wide angle) or the three stacked togheter with a 200mm lens. In any case they work perfect for achieveng really close focusing distances and very close to 1:1 magnification. A quite important problem is, however, the very narrow depth of field. This is something that some people may want to have a look at before buying this set since macro lens achieve a little longer depth ... Read More Rating: - Great alternative to buying a high priced Macro lens...I've had these tubes for a few weeks now and am very happy with it...I really wanted to get the Canon 100 2.8 Macro but since I was new to Macro, I thought this might be the less expensive way to get me started into Macro.. What I really don't like about these tubes is the focusing....I've been having a focusing problem, but perhaps thats my lack of expertise. Another thing I don't like is the complete frame is never sharp. Just the center is sharp. Yes, I do love the "bokeh" but, I'd really ... Read More |
