Editorial Review: Product Description: Bodum Pavina glasses provide superb insulation for both hot and cold drinks due to their unique double-wall feature. Air trapped between the two walls allow you to hold onto a piping hot glass of espresso without burning your fingers, or prevent condensation from forming on the outer wall while holding a cold beverage. Made of strong yet lightweight borosilicate glass, these glasses can safely go in the diswasher and microwave. Amazon.com Review: With futuristic looks and high-tech construction, Bodum's Pavina drinkware makes an exciting departure from traditional glassmaking. The walls of each vessel are crafted from two layers of clear glass, creating an optical illusion that the liquid is suspended inside. Softening the look, Pavina's shapes feature smooth, rounded silhouettes. The inner wall also curves slightly away from the outer wall for a touch of understated elegance. This set of two double wall iced tea/iced beverage glasses serves sun-brewed tea, fruit smoothies, or even a steaming latte with ease. Crafted of borosilicate glass, which is also used to make scientific lab equipment, the pair is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and thermal. The two-layer construction also resists heat and prevents condensation, so no matter what temperature the beverage is, the glasses remain comfortable to hold and safe for any tabletop. Winner of the prestigious European IF Design Award, this 21-ounce scratch-resistant set goes into the dishwasher and microwave. Mix and match Pavina with the Assam and Canteen lines to stock the bar or dining table with a variety of fun shapes. --Kara Karll Editor's Note: Because the glasses are mouth blown, each one may have slight variations in height, thickness, and weight. Bodum recommends using care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. Do not use metal spoons or place the glass into a crowded dishwasher. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - These glasses are really classy!I ordered the 12 oz. ones and I really like them. They are for adults, don't give them to your small children, but the glasses are really classy for entertaining, and even good for everyday use. My husband and myself like them, and I will be ordering these as well. The other glasses came in good condition, and we live overseas!! Rating: - Don't buy theseThey look gorgeous. They are poorly designed, however. They are top-heavy and tip at one false move. The glass is a bit thicker than a christmas tree ornament. Gone in two weeks. Rating: - BROKEN!!!I ordered these glasses for my mom and they arrived BROKEN in the bottom of a large box- with no padding protecting them!! Like flushing $40.00 down the toilet. Rating: - No more coastersI purchased these glasses as a gift for my mother. She loves to have a tall glass of iced tea during the day, but the glass is always a drippy mess and the tea is watered down as the ice melts quickly. These glasses are ideal for her. They are VERY lightweight, mouth blown borosilicate glass and are made to insulate the beverage inside. Basically, they are a glass inside a glass with air in between to insulate. The beverage stays colder/warmer longer with NO condensation. These glasses are ... I set an empty one down on the counter and, for some reason, it fell over. Having broken many an Erlenmyer flask in my day, the familiar sound of thin borosilicate glass cracking/breaking rushed back through my mind. Kimax, Pyrex, generic borosilicate: I've broken it all! When I saw these glasses, I was immediately seduced. No sweating glass (I live in Florida). Beverage stays cooler ... Read More |
