Yes, the door is definitely hard to open. I still give this toy a 5-star review because it has consitently been the favorite toy of both my kids around the age of 1. We got it out when he was a few months old. He began playing with it by just holding the coins and has progressed to being able to put the coins in himself (he is 16 months old now). I feel this has taught him to reposition the coin when it doesn't go in. He does like the song, but he likes putting the coins in and opening the door and taking them out more. The adults get a chuckle when the pig sneezes! Rating: - My boys love it!Both my boys love this toy! It really keeps them entertained. My little one (13 months) has really improved in his hand-eye coordination from playing with it and I love how he gets excited when he successfully fits the coins into the slot. Read More Rating: - amusing little piggyI received this as a gift for my 6-month old. She has loved it from day one. I would set up the coin in the slot for her and she would take it out. Now she's learned to "feed the piggy" and push the coins into the slot. She also has learned to open and close the door which is great fun for her now that she's 10-months. When she was about 11 months old she started gravitating to the piggy bank and working on putting the coins in the slot. She would spend half and hour to an hour working with the bank.
