 Rating:  - I'd buy it again tomorrowI bought this translator a few weeks ago, and it's been invaluable. It's the only one that I know of that will translate to/from English, Slovak, Czech, Polish, Italian, Greek, German, Hebrew, and more. It's been a godsend for me. I highly recommend it. The phrases aren't so great, but for word-to-word translation, it's surprisingly good. 580,000 words total (roughly 20,000 in each of 29 languages. It's better than any software or on-line translator I've tried. Rating: - Good for basic words only.I purchased this dictionary after I saw it advertised as containing close to a half a million words!! I was dissappointed to find out it can only handle the basic words. It seems to be handy for a traveller to a foreign country where you need to ask for a basic item. I needed it for more advanced translation, and that it cannot do. It couldn't handle words like "protocol"!!! Rating:  - Not worth it...I speak 3 languages and I am trying to learn a fourth. I thought this would be a useful tool, but it has failed miserably. The translations are incorrect at times and it gives you a limited definition of a word, which can in other languages have more than one meaning. Limited vocabulary, on numerous occasions I tried to translate a standard English word, and the Lingo did not have the word in the 'system'. Rating: - Useless.I bought this in hopes that it would help ease the language barrier while working as a teacher in Korea. I have found it easier to learn Korean than learning how to operate this gadget. I find a $5.00 translation book much more helpful in navigating my new world. However, I did manage to set the time on it, so it's an expensive clock. Rating: - Great SellerI waited until the week before Christmas to order this translator as a gift, but it was shipped quickly and arrived on time! I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this seller again. |
