Features:
  • The Sequel to the award winning X3 - The Threat will introduce a new 3D engine as well as a new story, new ships and a new gameplay to greatly increase the variety in the X-universe. The economy of X3 - Reunion will be more complex than anything seen in the X-universe before. Factories are being built by NPCs, wars can affect the global economy, NPCs can trade freely and pirates will behave far more realistically.
  • The Technology - Extensive development has gone into the X3 engine, making full use of DirectX 9 technology, to create dramatic visual effects and stunningly realistic starships. Coupled with the massively enhanced A.L. (Artificial Life) system, X3 - REUNION will present players with an ever changing, evolving universe; where a players actions really can shape the future of the universe.
  • Newcomers will enjoy the additions to the already graphically impressive, almost living X3-Universe, while veterans can expect new construction options and an improved physics model.
  • The Story - What happened so far - While the Argon fleet is stretched almost to breaking point by the continuing attacks from Khaak, a new enemy is stalking the X-universe. What links a mysterious ship with the power to disappear, the ruthless Yaki pirates and a machine left by an ancient species? Its time to strap yourself into your cockpit, warm up your laser cannon and get some answers.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Space Game Ever Made
X3 Combo package Review:

"I ordered the COMBO package which is suppose to be X3 v1.0 and X3 v2.0 - because as this was going to be a

collectors item for me. I received 2 of the very same package and game. Instead of what the purchase was intended to

be like the description it said. So basically I bought the same game twice. Maybe someone in the ordering and

packaging was not paying attention or something, So I am Upset"

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great game
Great game. I've been playing as a trader, and the dynamic economy is excellent. You aren't able to continually run between two or three places, as in some other games (Freelancer). I haven't played the story much, but from what I've read it sounds a lot like the story in Freelancer. If you were to play this as a solely a space combat game, however, it might get a little old. There are only so many ways you can dress up a "go here and kill this" mission.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best space game out there period
Simply put this game is the best single player space sim out there.

Want to do a story mode? Want to just do an open ended career? Want to dl tons of mods, custom ships and scripts? X3 has it all. With a little research and work you can even add your own mods and custom ships.

The choice in gameplay is up to you. You can be a defender of the galaxy, a trader, a feared pirate. Your career is up to you.

Get this game if you like space sims, less arcadey than other ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Might be worth a shot
If you're worried about the StarForce copy protection (and you should be) you should know you can now buy this game via Steam -- without the nefarious StarForce drivers being surreptiously installed on your machine.
As for the game itself, it feels like kind of a cross between a game like Freelancer (mission-based combat with lots of opportunity for trading-runs for profit) and a classic "build an empire"-type game.
The controls and UI do leave a bit to be desired (a common flaw in European ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - kind of like a Rubick's Cube
This may be a great game. I have no idea.

All I know is I just spent an entire day (and the following morning) attempting to learn its most basic elements of play.

I'm lost. Utterly lost. I have absolutely no idea what's going on, and worse, I have no idea what I should be doing differently in order to improve my gameplay.

I could check online forums & newsgroups... but.. should I have to?

I'm an experienced gamer... I've played tons of complicated games, ... Read More
