Amazon.com Product Description: Stylishly modern and nicely compact, the thin-profile Philips MCM275 mini stereo system has a flat profile that can either sit on a bookshelf or be wall-mounted (with included screws). The CD player spins vertically to save space, and this system measures just 3.54 inches deep. It also includes a digital AM/FM tuner and two detachable 5-watt speakers that can mount individually or stay attached to the entire unit. You'll get an even deeper sound from your favorite music thanks to Philips' Dynamic Bass Boost and Digital Sound Control features. In addition to standard audio CDs, the MCM275 is also compatible with CD-R/RW discs burned with your favorite mixes, as well as discs burned with MP3 and WMA digital audio files. This unit also includes a USB Direct, which enables you to plug in a USB-compatible MP3 player and play music directly from that device. The CD player has 40-track programming with repeat one/all/program and shuffle capability. The digital AM/FM tuner includes 40 station presets. Other features include a blue LCD, clock with alarm and sleep timer functions, 3.5mm headphone jack, and remote control. Dynamic Bass Boost emphasizes the bass content of music throughout the range of volume settings--from low to high--at the touch of a button. Bottom-end bass frequencies usually get lost when the volume is set at a low level. To counteract this, Dynamic Bass Boost can be switched on to boost bass levels, so you can enjoy consistent sound even when you turn down the volume. The Digital Sound Control feature lets you select from pre-set modes that control the frequency bands of sound to optimize certain musical styles. You can chose between different sound settings--Optimal, Jazz, Rock, Techno, Pop or Classic. Each mode uses graphic equalizing technology to automatically adjust the sound balance and enhance the most important sound frequencies in your chosen music style. ![]() Rating: - Fine while it lastedI had this for a little over a year but didn't use it all that much. Now the CD door keeps opening automatically and won't play CDs. Other than that huge problem, I have no specific complaints about performance. Rating: - I'd avoid this systemI really hate this stereo. There are several reasons. 1. If your power even flickers, the system resets. Even more annoying if you use the timer function as an alarm clock and it doesn't wake you up in the morning because the system has reset. 2. Whenever you put in a CD, the system has to read the CD and count the number of tracks before the CD will play. Not a big deal but I swear those extra 30 seconds take forever. Man! It even annoys me to describe this stereo. 3. The remote ... Read More Rating: - QuestionIs this compatible with 220 voltage outlet? I'm trying to send this item to my parent in foriegn country.. Rating: - ipod readyI got this unit off Sam's auction site for $68 (that's with shipping!). It's awesome. I just use my USB cable that came with my iPod to plug and play. It also charges my iPod while plugged in. It's so sleek. The only caveat (and not a problem necessarily) is that the speakers are more silver in color than black. This picture makes them look smoky gray, which they are NOT. Rating: - VaporwareI bought this product because it claimed to be "iPod dock ready." Even Phillips cannot tell me where I can buy the DC276 dock. This has been a waste of time and money, since the return period ran out while I was searching for the dock. |
