![]() Rating: - good flickgood hockey movie for the real hockey nut.made me wish I had a local team like that to root for.A real life slap shot.definitely worth the viewing pleasure Rating: - Chiefs DVDI really didn't know what to expect on this one. It's nice suprise that they showed hockey life behind the scenes. The community living was funny and the guys were pretty laid back thou still wanted to play hard and get contracts for higher level teams/leagues. I think this is a nice documentary about a team in the toughest league in the world. If you like hockey, you'll probably want to get this into your collection of hockey related DVD's. Rating: - GREAT!!!! Excellent insight into minor league hockey! This movie really surprised me. In the vein of "Murderball," this documentary is told like a narrative. This neat documentary depicts the lives of the hockey goons "drafted" by a semi-pro league team, the Laval Chiefs. For those who don't know, a "goon" is the go-to player when it comes ... I walked out of it like a guy who didn't know what had hit him, and now, several months later, I still find myself thinking about it. The story of these hockey players is not what one would expect. Yes, you get some awesome fights, hits, blood, etc. and a lot of great laughs too, but by the end of the film, you're not sure if you should bawl your eyes out like a baby ... Read More |
