 Rating:  - AWESOME DETECTOR.I purchased my BEL 940 a few weeks ago and I must say that I love it. I originally purchased a Cobra, which was around the same price as the BEL 940. It was horrible, kept falling off of my windshield and never picked up any patrol cars. After doing a bit more research I picked out this one and for the same price it is 100 times better. It actually stays in place, easy to operate and is fairly inexpensive compared to other models. I'm impressed! Rating:  - Heavy Foot? Buy This!!!If you tend to speed, this is definetely worth the investment! It usually gives you at least 5 seconds worth of warning before a patrol is within sight. But, I rated this a four instead of a five because it didn't give me much warning (2-3 seconds before visual) on one occasion where a patrol car was hidden on the highway median. Also, this detector does give some false alarms, especially when passing shops, but as the saying goes, "Better to be safe than sorry!" Rating: - Great working radar detector at a great price!This is the 2nd Bel 940 that I have owned in the past 5 years and this is a great radar detector. The last one was sold with the vehicle that I sold, and it still worked perfectly! I've also used Cobra's and I will attest that the Bel is much more sensitive to police radar than the Cobra, but it also filers out false signals much better than the Cobra. I am hard of hearing and was surprised to find the volume was great! For the money, it is a very good radar detector.
