Editorial Review: Product Description: Battlestations: Midway in direct command of multiple warships, planes and submarines in this epic solo and online tactical action game. The game follows the story of naval recruit Henry Walker, whose first assignment as a gunner at Pearl Harbor is the starting point of an incredible career at the heart of the US Pacific Fleet in 1942, in what was to become one of the most inspirational military campaigns in history. Play 11 campaign missions, 12 bonus challenges, plus naval training academy in an immersive storyline Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - A Shooter, NOT A Stratedgy GameSo you don't make the mistake I did, this game is a SHOOTER, NOT a stratedgy game. As a shooter it is fairly entertaining and the graphics and battle engines are good. What I was hoping for (and what some of the product info I read said) was that it was partly a strategy game. This it is not. I was hoping for something on par with Avalon Hill's "Midway" board game (only for the PC) where you can setup the war in the Pacific using the same historical units and strengths. Sort of ... Read More Rating: - Submarine action worth the price.I bought this game because it had submarine combat which is rare. The battleship and air combat is kind of lame, but the submarine combat is great. You have all aspects of submarine warfare, ie. sonar, periscope, air supply, forward and stern torpedoe tubes, etc Rating: - OK, but WAY too shortQuick review. This game is OK. The gameplay is fun and you get to switch between any unit in the game, however there are a LOT of things goiong on at once and usually you end up staring at the overview map. The game is incredibly short -- I finished the campaign in about 4 hours. Then all that is left are the challenges. Worth it for $10 in a remainder rack. Not at full price. Rating: - Sweet but short!Battle stations Midway is an absolute BLAST to play its amazing how they fused together 1st person shooter and 3rd person. But because of the skill it took to do this they could only produce a small amount of levels 11 to be exact. But after that you can hit the challenges which are special challenges in a specific region of the game. For example, there are 4 ship challenges, 3 plane challenges, and 3 submarine challenges. Then when you've owned the PC enough move on to the MULTIPLAYER which is pretty ... Read More Rating: - Please answer this for me....Do you mind me asking at what age do you think a kid could get this and be able to play this?? Also, I've been trying to find and have not been able to find out if the graphics are gory (ie: blood, etc) or individual people getting hurt. I have a six year old who LOVES u-boats and submarines and my husband has allowed him to play several games that unfortunately after I found out that it shows individual PEOPLE getting hurt, I had to do the Mom thing and take them away. What I'm torn about ... Read More |
