 Rating:  - Don't rent from your cable company!I updated my older Motorola Surfboard that I was renting from the cable company with this one. Before the update I was getting 5Mbps down and 768Kbps upload. I am now getting 15Mbps+ download and 1.5Mbps+ upload! Do not rent from your cable company! Spend the money and buy this modem! Rating: - Good value for moneyVery good product. Works great. It has made internet surfing faster. I had rental model from cable company since last 2 years. That was a mistake. Rating: - 5 Star ProductMotorola Surfboard SB5101 Cable Modem works perfectly with no operational problems. Extremely easy to connect for non-technical person. Easily replaced the Comcast unit. Took old one out, matching wiring from old to new. Called Comcast to activate per instructions and "off to the races". Great heavy packaging, clear and easy instructions. Rating:  - This modem looses conneciton sporadicallyAfter weeks of still troubleshooting my connection, my cable company in an effort to prove this unit is defective, has hooked up two modems to my cable line in the office. Both modems are identical, when mine fails, the comcast laoner is still lit up. They are on the both line so I know it's not my wiring, the isp, or my signal strength.
