I purchased a Drinkwell Platinum fountain in July 2009 and it worked great for about 6 months. Now, it constantly spills water all over the floor. The lip around the drinking pool area is not high enough to contain the water. If it starts spilling water when the reservoir is full, it will just keep going until it drains the reservoir and the floor is flooded. I'm contacting the manufacturer today for help. But people with wood floors or carpeting, beware.

This fountain works great. I no longer have to turn the bath tub faucet on for my cat. At first she would only drink from the bowl. After awhile she started to drink from the fountain. Cleaning is easy. Every other week I take it apart and put it in the dishwasher (with the exception of the pump and cord). I also make sure the heated dry is turned off so it doesn't melt any of the parts. It's been about 5 month's and I've had no problems.

Has exceeded my expectations! My pets love it, I don't get anymore verbal abuse from my cats, at least in regards to their water,lol! My thanks to Drinkwell! Great product.

I like this fountain and it certainly does encourage my dog to drink more water. The only reason I do not like it is that it needs to be cleaned fairly frequently or the motor gets plugged with hair even with the new filter. I do not find it hard to clean, so I still think it deserves 4 stars.

This fountain is a great addition to any cat household. I feel that its built well, and i have had it for a few mounths now, and have yet to expirence any problems with it... However, i have 2 cats, one of which started drinking out of this fountain around 3 weeks after i got it!~ the other still wont go near it... Which worries me, since i no longer provide stale bowl water, so she drinks little to NO water--please take into consideration that she eats alot of wet food.
