Editorial Review: Product Description: Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Excellent Product - Works as ExpectedHave had one of these for almost a year to power a vacuum cleaner, power tools, electronic equipment, etc. It is a "workhorse" and performs as expected and advertised. It will step up to 220 volts and step down to 110 volts - as it is designed to do - as long as you select the proper input voltage via a small switch on the back of the unit (see, e.g., previous negative reviews). Rating: - A product that worksThe product work really well. It is totally noiseless and does the job of transforming 110V into 220v. Be careful, the outer box description is very confusing, we almost returned it. It says it will transform 130v into 220v, but in fact it works with 110v. Rating: - NOT a converter from 110 to 220The product's description clearly stated that it will convert the AC from 110 to 220 and this is why i bought it. I was shocked to discover that it DOES NOT CONVERT 100 TO 220 ! so of course, the product is useless to me. Also, the return policy allows you to return the product only if it was never opened. Obviously you cannot know that the product is USELESS until you tried it... (and on top of that, even if it can be returned, the shipping costs are very high ... Read More Rating: - Beware! This is NOT a Step-Up/Step-Down Converter!!This product is a voltage STABILIZER. This means that it stabilizes or regulates voltages within certain ranges, which is useful in situations where current is unstable. HOWEVER, it absolutely, under any circumstances, does NOT step-up or step-down voltages between 110/120 V and 220/240 V, as stated in both the Technical Details and Product Description sections. Don't believe me? Order it yourself. I did. I give three stars, because for all I know it works great. It's just not what ... Read More Rating: - Should last foreverI have owned one of these (or rather a Nippon America AR-2000, which looks identical to this bar the manufacturer name) since early 2003. I paid closer to $95 at that time. I use it in 110V to 220V step-up mode with a manufactured-for-the-UK Linn Sondek LP12 turntable and Cyrus III amplifier, simultaneously connected. I have left my transformer powered up for months at a time without problems. Performance of the turntable has always been flawless with this power source, no issues either with direct listening ...
