Editorial Review:

Product Description:
For quick meals, as part of a fast, hectic day, nothing is as efficient as making microwave meals. With Panasonic Microwave ovens, they can be tasty too!
Panasonic has succeeded in evolving Turbo Defrost, which allows you to defrost foods even faster than previous Panasonic Auto Defrost. Panasonic Inverter Turbo Defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system using the Inverter low-power delivery feature. It was developed on the basis of what scientists call "Chaos Theory." This design makes it possible to distribute microwave energy with the most appropriate combination of regularity and irregularity.
Though heating foo9d is quick and easy, what about problems with heat retention once the food leaves the oven chamber? A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps the temperature of your food at a constant level without overcooking. Our improved keep-warm menu now includes five items, so food like stew, gravy and desserts can stay warm in the oven until you are ready to serve.
With Inverter Microwave Ovens, you'll have all the power you need to cook with ease, speed, and style. Panasonic's Inverter technology takes advantage of multiple power levels, and it maintains the best colour, shape, texture, and flavours of your food. Delicate foods can simmer without overcooking on edges and surfaces. And, due to consistent delivery of microwave energy, foods will no longer undercook in the center and have hard overcooked edges. With this technology you'll enjoy cooking your food - and eating it too!
The Menu Action Screen is like having a gourmet chef to assist you in the kitchen. It scrolls step-by-step cooking instructions across the display in a choice of English, Spanish, or French. Our Function Key simplifies the programming of 10 useful, non-cooking functions. Extraordinary! Quick Minute (Add Minute) Feature More/Less Control Easy-to-Use Pop-Out Dial Elegant Design with R

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good microwave
Great at cooking solid foods, ok at cooking liquids and suspension foods. The auto cook feature does not work that good. Plenty of cooking space. Overall good, but not great microwave.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine
This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.

Problems:

1.) The display is polarized, so you can't view it from an angle above 45 degrees. This is not a problem from several feet away, but standing next to the microwave on the counter I need to bend down to see the display.

Until I have the microwave memorized I will always need to bend over to set the microwave. This is not a problem on my old Panasonic.

2.) ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great microwave for 1.2 cf
We'd prefer a larger unit, but this one fits in the cabinet space with enough room for ventilation. The 1300 watts is very nice, and cooks or reheats food much quicker than our old 1000 watt Panasonic [which finally died after 11 hard-use years]. The controls are basic, and simple to use, and the build seems durable. Be aware, however, that the unit ships in its own box, and our first unit was pretty well banged-up. Amazon is wonderfully easy with returns, however, and the replacement arrived ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Style changes make it not as friendly
We bought this as a replacement for a previous model, the 665B I believe, one of which died out of the blue after two years, and then two years later the replacement died again, but this time was from a plastic bag falling behind it and blocking the air intake.

This newer version is almost the same as our earlier one -- same dimensions (or very close, which was crucial to us) and the same button operation, but the door has been changed. Instead of having a black handle on the door that ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Performance So Far
So far this microwave has performed great. It had the most power for its size I could find. This was replacement for same model used for 5 yrs before it began being quite slow - taking 30-50% longer to cook
