Editorial Review: Product Description: Thrillville: Off the Rails amps up the family-friendly mix of gameplay with some of the most outlandish roller-coaster concepts ever imagined, as well as new ways to talk to park guests and a new array of carnival games. 20 death-defying rides so outrageous inspire the same word from every park visitor who sees them: "WHOA!" Build incredible "WHOA Coasters" to leap from one track to another, launch through the air like cannonballs, blast through a burning ring of fire and more. A new lighthearted story ties together more than 100 missions, complete with 34 playable multiplayer theme-park games and social interaction with park guests that's better than ever. The in-depth conversations both advance the plot and suggest better ways to manage the park but is every guest to be trusted? Attach animatronics, flowers and flaming hoops to all of your coasters and rides Smarter guests, better dialogue and more focused two-way conversation make Thrillville's socialization aspects even more amusing than before Conversation more directly impacts the story than in the original Thrillville Play 34 minigames - 14 new, 20 returning from the original Thrillville with new levels such as Robo K.O., Sparkle Quest, Bandito Chinchilla and Tank Frenzy Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - A bit of a letdown...This is an okay game, but definitely a letdown... I bought this a few weeks before Christmas 2007 and was really excited. It turned out to be a bit bland though. The "Whoa" pieces look cool but move slowly and make you wish the ride would get a move on. It also isn't very "whoa" when it won't allow you to use these pieces more than half the time (you have to be straight to use this one, or you must be on a downhill slant, etc.) making most coasters slow, boring, and pointless. Altering ... Read More Rating: - A fun game, but still needs moreThrillville Off The Rails is a lot of fun, if you're about 10 I guess. It's not a bad game, but I have some issues with it. 1- You only have 5 parks you can build. That's it! 2- The coaster creator is kind of annoying. It's not as realistic as say Roller Coaster Tycoon or others. 3- Some of the mini-games explanations leave a lot to be desired. It took me forever to figure out a few of them. I'd hate to be 10 and try to figure them out. 4- If the robots are ... Read More Rating: - Pretty Good......but it's no Carnival GamesSo I just got this game for my Wii and it's.........pretty good. In one mode you run around your theme park trying out and placing rides and booths and games and such which is half fun and half "what am I doing?" Previous reviews mentioned how realistic the coasters were, which they are, but they didn't mention that they were mostly 30 seconds in length, as were all the rides. Kinda short given that this is billed as a coaster game. In party mode you can indeed forgo the running around the park ... Read More Rating: - bang for the buckwe love the mini games, but the rollercoaster & park simulation is difficult to understand, takes time to develop & even us, dads, don't have now the patience for this. for $30., it's worth it. Rating: - Something for everyoneWow, this game is packed with stuff to do. Something for everyone. Mom enjoyed the mission challenges in 5 categories: build, games, guests, upkeep, and manage. Dad liked the classic-style arcade games. Seven year old liked exploring the many parks and solving the sabotage mysteries. Five year old loved to build coasters, golf courses, and buggy courses. The music (including Miley Cyrus and Aly and AJ) and the DJ background is pretty hip. The dance/cheerleeding game is terrible, but the shooting/treasure hunting ... Read More |
